Scott's got a great article about our new women's basketball coach, Nikki Caldwell..............in today's Advocate.......

Nikki the Savior!

Key quotes.......

quote:

I don’t do laziness. I just don’t,” said Caldwell, her voice almost imperceptibly taking a harder edge.

........"But when we step on that court and we know we have to roll up our sleeves and go to work, I need you practicing at a high intensity, because the game is high intensity. The way we play is going to be high intensity"

quote:

They’re going to win championships at LSU,” she said. “They’re going to cut down nets. Girls are going to want to come play for her. She’s going to put it back to where it was before.

Good things are just down the road for the Lady Tigers!

Ha, yea..................you WISH I was a female.

I'm a fan and I'm excited about the program. Deal with that bruh. I like the fact that we've got a successful coach who also happens to be fine as hell. Is she worth $700K........................? She's worth more than that if you ask me.

As for the baseball team................well right now it's kinda obvious that Maneiri isn't worth $700K.

But unlike some others, I hope that they can turn it around and be successful since they represent LSU.

She says all the right things and has been successful for her whole basketball life.

Who knows what the future holds for her or LSU, but she seems to be a good hire and we were already paying $700,000 to a guy who was allowing the LSU basketball product to slide downhill at an alarming rate....so, I don't the big deal bout her pay.

If we gonna have the program, then let's have one as good as we can and in the grand scheme of things at LSU....a couple hundred thou isn't really a big deal when you trying to get the attendance back up to 5500 as is was before it dropped to 3000. imo

Because of Nikki coming to LSU I decided to renew my season tickets of LSU womens basketball. I believe this to be a great hire by Alleva. Last year I went to a few games but had no plans of getting season tickets with Van at the helm. Thanks for the feed lsualum96

Extremely overpaid when women's basketball holds the biggest net loss of any sport at LSU.

I don't understand some folks- if you are a true LSU fan, you would support, or at least hope that LSU is successful in all sports they participate. I have seen negative comments about the softball team too, and I just don't get it...I support all LSU teams, and enjoy watching LSU football, baseball, softball, basketball, whatever... 6

If they win a title or 2 don't you think that would increase attendance thus reducing the losses in revenue?

Yep..............and what if she gets attendance back up to over 7,000/game, like it was when Seimone was here? I guarantee you one thing.....................there'd still be some folks who'd complain about it.

Some will never be satisfied.
The girl can coach, she's been successful everywhere she's been and she's the most beautiful coach in college basketball. What more do you want? Do you REALLY care about the fact that LSU chooses to pay her $700K/year...............................Really?
What a miserable life you must lead.

Little more than 2 million per year. Find it yourself billy badass. I'm on my phone.

And no matter how much they win they won't reduce that deficit by much.

I can't wait for another season of missed layups and set shots that don't even hit the rim. Women's college basketball is so exciting.
