My boy can tie a beautiful knot 1/2 the time. The other half it seems he has some kind of little person stroke.

brim and even bass do that as well, im told its a spawning thing where they build up extra bulk to impress the ladies to spawn but it goes back to normal after spawning season ends

Yep, second pic is a black crappie. Posted it because the redear in the op looks like a cross between the two. Never seen black crappie type coloration on a redear before. Pretty cool!

The original post just got me sort of sentimental about my old fishing buddy. He is a springer spaniel who is 17 years old now and about to be put down. I'll never forget his looks of disapproval when I did not catch a fish on every cast. Sorry for thread hijacking.

Back to weird fish, here is a bass with nutty coloration.
