I'm not mad. I just think it's a little hypocritical of the OP to talk shite about a guy doing the same exact thing he's doing - hanging out at the gun counter.

If homeboy is doing straw purchases, I've got no problem with the OP narcing on him. But all the self-righteous BS about being on welfare and buying guns with my tax dollars is just that - bullshite.

At least you're willing to admit that you've made some very broad and unsubstantiated assumptions about this guy, (unlike BVIF, or whatever his handle is). I can't look at a person and tell if they are on welfare, unemployed, a tax evader and/or buying guns with my tax dollars. Is your new job as a psychic?

Did you read the entire thread? If not, you need to read it. You missed some very salient points. If you have read it, you need to read it again. You missed some very salient points. And it's BFIV, not BVIF.

He is basically making straw purchases. Are you dense that you can't see what he is doing is wrong?

Would it be wrong if he was buying and selling lamps without a license?

Would it have been wrong before the ATF and background checks existed? When you could buy a 10/22 at the grocery store?

Yes, I read the entire thread. Please elaborate on the salient points I've overlooked or perhaps didn't comprehend.

In your post at 12:50, you explained your "three problems with what this guy is doing".
1) collecting unemployment AND profiting on straw sales
2) not paying any income taxes, SS or Medicare
3) needs to stop cheating the system and the rest of us taxpayers by collecting unemployment and not reporting earned income.

How can you possibly know ANY of these things to be fact? If I had to guess, he probably doesn't report the profit he makes on gun sales to the IRS, but I doubt many - if any - casual gun sellers do. I can't imagine how you would have any idea whatsoever as to this guy's employment status. Maybe he works nights and hits Academy and WalMart in the a.m. OkieTiger actually is unemployed. Are we to assume he's buying guns and ammo with welfare money? No, he's probably got a savings account and a credit card.

You have no point to make, I guess?
Are the posters here who have bought large quantities of ammo and mags and resold them immediately for profit also wrong?
Will the OP report them to the IRS?

Another one with no point to make.

I'm curious... Is your idea of spending quality time with your new born son consist of bringing him out in this shitty weather to the gun counters at Academy and WalMart?

My son isn't with me. I get up super early, make sure he's changed, make sure my wife is ok, then head out for a few hours. I know when the trucks are coming so I'm always back maybe after only 1 feeding.

And I've put a lot of pieces together on the guy. I've talked to 3 people that make the rounds up here that always see him. And it's been over a month. So unless he has the weirdest job situation ever, he's not working. He also told another guy that he's "kind of a part time student" (guy's words not mine). So again, I am making assumptions, but it's pretty damn clear to me that the guy's not working.

I have no problem getting "beat in line" by someone, but when they appear to be piece of shite humans doing it for illegal gain, I have a problem with it.

Especially when it's doing nothing but preventing good citizens from owning rifles.

OK...we'll take em one at a time.

In the original post by the ORIGINAL POSTER, he said this guy was unemployed. I replied to that in my first post, which you have quoted above. Later, OkieTiger admitted that was just an assumption on his part. No need for me to readdress the same issue at that point.

This guy is obviously a straw purchaser or he wouldn't be advertising these purchases for resale. Casual sales do not require a FFL license. This guy is not a casual seller. He is a straw purchaser. Have you heard of "Operation Fast and Furious"? He is bound by law to pay income taxes, federal and state, on these guns when he resells them. He is not doing that because he is not a FFL licensed dealer. If he was FFL licensed, he wouldn't be buying from Wal-Mart. These types of straw sales are explicitly forbidden by federal law and his blatant disregard for this law only empowers and gives credibility to the Nancy Pelosi's and Dianne Feinstein's of the current political climate. The big salient point you continue to either miss, disregard or ignore is that this guy is not making a casual gun sale. He is making numerous straw purchases and undercutting the livelihood of legitimate FFL business owners, not paying income taxes on these ill gotten gains, and enjoying the profits earned at the expense of ignoring and violating all current legitimate business regulations. On the other hand, you could be quite right, too. Perhaps he really isn't reselling these guns and his ads and text messages to potential buyers are just for kicks. Maybe he is just buying up all these weapons for his own private collection. And if he is reselling these weapons, maybe he is reporting the sales on his tax return and maybe he is selling them for the same price as the licensed FFL dealers. Maybe he really does have a FFL license. Maybe, maybe, maybe...

You're right about that, Crawdaddy. What this guy is doing has helped to make attacks on the 2nd amendment more numerous and ridiculous, imho. What he, and others like him, are doing, though, is now hurting all of us more than we realize or realized then.

We are even further down the road to socialism than I thought if this is what passes for pro gun rights, pro free enterprise, anti protectionist, anti big gov't thought around here. With people tripping over each other running to congratulate a guy for ratting someone out to the ATF for price-gouging and selling guns without a federal license.

But he might be unemployed, so its ok.
But he's not selling to "good citizens", so its ok.
but but but income taxes.
And of course none of us would dream of flipping something we got at regular price during this craze.

So principles don't actually matter. What matters is whether what he's doing affects us. So if I only hunt and have no other use for guns, I shouldn't care whether AR15s are banned? I mean, it's not affecting me.
And of course I'm sure if nobody was making straw purchases then Obama wouldnt want gun control.

I dont have a problem with it either way, but if someone reports someone else for a federal offense, then more power to them. What's it to you?
