What would you be willing to sell the boat for?

This! There is just about no way to get any paperwork.
Only one time I was able to get paperwork for a boat that the owner didn't have. It was a PITA and cost me a lot of money and time. I will never do that again!

Without paperwork, the boat and trailer are worth about $200. So, yeah, I'd take the trade.

That gun sucks, but if you have no use for the boat and want it gone, at least you can more easily sell the gun.
Tell him you'll take the trade, but keep the trolling motor. Sell the trolling motor seperately for a couple hundred and sell the gun for a a few hundred.

I disagree. There are plenty of people that pond fish or have a pond at their house/property that could use this. It's worth more than 200. Just can't put a motor in it and use it in main waterways. Try and trade just the boat for just the gun. Keep the trolling motor.

You can buy similar boats any day on craigslist for around $100. The trolling motor is by far the most valuable part of the deal.
OP, I don't know this for a fact, but I'm told that in Mississippi you don't need original paperwork to get a boat registered. Might be worth looking into if you can find a buyer there.

Sell the trolling motor seperate from boat and trailer. How does that boat have numbers without paperwork? If it's already registered in LA new owner should just need a bill of sale I would think.
