Wearing a face mask is certainly not an iron-clad guarantee that you won’t get sick – viruses can also transmit through the eyes and tiny viral particles, known as aerosols, can penetrate masks. However, masks are effective at capturing droplets, which is a main transmission route of coronavirus, and some studies have estimated a roughly fivefold protection versus no barrier alone (although others have found lower levels of effectiveness).

If you are likely to be in close contact with someone infected, a mask cuts the chance of the disease being passed on. If you’re showing symptoms of coronavirus, or have been diagnosed, wearing a mask can also protect others. So masks are crucial for health and social care workers looking after patients and are also recommended for family members who need to care for someone who is ill – ideally both the patient and carer should have a mask.

However, masks will probably make little difference if you’re just walking around town or taking a bus so there is no need to bulk-buy a huge supply.

If you have corona it will help you not give it to others. Pretty much that is what the paper masks are good for too. The people who have it need to be wearing the masks.

Thanks, I didn’t really think so, but trying to think of something for my mother. She’s overall in good health, but has had respiratory problems in the past.

Man you walk in a grocery store wearing some tricky skin-tight skull mask right now and fkn pandemonium might ensue. But at least you won't have skin cancer.

Excellent Answer.
Anything has to be better than nothing with all the idiots that can't seem to cover their mouth.

No, but the fish won't be able to identify their abductors.

It's obviously to prevent sunburn. But when I see it I think overly-sensitive and/or douche. This person will also almost 100% of the time have a Huk shirt and Aftco fingerless gloves on too.

I recommend using them for you avid fishermen. In your 20 and 30s you get a nice tan.
In your 40s and early 50s you get actinic keratosis.
In your late 50s and 60s you have chunks of skin with meet excised for skin cancer.

When I go out on my 4-night Keys fishing trips you can bet I'm wearing one. And a wide brimmed hat. Laugh all you want.
