The rules are pretty simple. Starting at 1201 am April 11 catch, trap, or kill as many hogs as possible by noon on the 21st. There are daily prizes for the most hogs by noon and 5 place prizes for most for the entire competition. Teams are a maximum of 4 people and only team members may shoot, handle, or trasport pigs.

We spent 3 weeks building and baiting traps prior to the event. Due to a series of events all of my 3 teamates are novice hunters and trappers. My wife and and her friend are running the traps during the day. her friends husband and I are repairing traps, moving traps, and hunting when we are not working. Surprisingly, my wife is really liking it all as is her friend.

We won the daily today with 25 pigs. We are just keeping the heads so we can ice and store them to increase our odds of winning a daily prize.

And after she sunk my truck to the axles.

BP, show me a pic of your traps gate. Wanna see how you did that?

Second, why dont you bring meat to local food shelters? I'm sure you got over a 1000 pounds of hog there that they'd like to have?

The best part is I only cut the heads off of about 10 of those. My wife and her friend have done the rest.

Just got a text we got 10 more today, including one that squezzed out of the trap and was picked off at 25 yards with buckshot!

God, I love that woman!

We have 17 traps out and running and only 5 or 6 have the same door/mechanisim. I will draw some later for ya.

As far as meat, there are no shelters out here in rural east Texas. the meat donation is set up so it has to be professionally processed at $50 per hog (that I would be paying) then I give it away. Screw that noise. If there was a way to donate at no cost other than the hassel of doing it I would be all over it. There are so many hogs around here if you want one you just shoot or catch one yourself. Sadly though many people (especially those poor enough to really benefit from the meat)turn their noses up at wild hog. I will be bringing in a whoel one for more brawts, and sausage and will likely keep three or four later this week when I have time to process them myself for my freezer. Right now with the daily prize time is expensive so processing them out just slows us down. Also, the girls can't lift some of the bigger 150-200+ lb hogs.

That looks so badass. I'd be pressured to quit my job and just kill hogs all day if I lived out there.
