We have 16 traps ranging over roughly 15k acres of private land. Some from my lease but many from other properties. No public land for us but you could hunt on it if you wanted. There just is not much public land to have access to around here.

Well BP, you did your part. I do like a nice shoulder though, and am glad you took what you wanted. I am completely down with shooting every pig you see, and leaving it if you can't drag it out. They are non-native invasive species that outcompetes and outbreed all the valuable natiove species like deer, bear and turkeys. Even better, get Faxis to put a game cam om the carcass.

Team 7 with 186 hogs. They are either absolutely eaten up with them or hunt professionally in a helicopter.

teams have been known to cheat in this contest

Before entering the contest I looked for last years numbers but they "were not available" after entering and investing considerable amount of money they posted last years numbers. He won with 166 then.
We are supposed to be only trapping from 1201 am on the 11th through noon on the 21st. We are only supposed to be using 4 team members to shoot, handle, and transport the hogs. We are supposed to only use those 4 team members to bait traps. We are not allowed to hunt high fenced properties or any property that sells pig hunts. We are not allowed to poison.
I have the feeling there is something fishy going on.
Normally a sounder of pigs is about 10 to 20 and you will usually only get 8-15 in a trap on a good day. That trap will ususally be dead for 3-4 days after that. I just dont see him putting up those #'s with only 4 people. The drive time, kill time, and handling time would be limiting to run that many traps in a day.
I will however, make a point to look this guy in the eye on final weigh in. I want to know for myself is he is a lying cheat.

It is now a felony in TX to cheat in fishing tourneys. I'm not sure if it extends to hog hunting but technically at this point he will be winning at least 17500 so Im sure it qualifies as grand larson if he is found to be stealing the money.

I imagine it would be really tough to prove, but it does happen

With only 4 team members it would be tough. I guess if they had alot of land and a bunch of traps then it is doable. Like you said once that trap catches a load it is usually empty for a while, so a bunch of traps would be needed. And if it is only 4 doing this like the rules say, then they dont have jobs.

Well I wish you were closer, Id take a couple pigs and would help you shoot some. Im trying to find somewhere close to shoot a pig so we dont have to buy hamburgers or what not for a company party.

A few more pics from this morning:
One that tried to get out but met his fate:
Spotted sow still suckling that rammed the gate so hard trying to excape that her back was broken when the girls showed up to check the trap.
drag marks from her pulling herself around on her front legs.
The gate that she ran into currently closed. Basically it is just a welded hinged door with a spring assit for closing.
