Im in my 30s and still shoot the same 20ga SKB that my grandfather passed on to me when I was 10yo. Ducks, Geese, and Doves.

Shoots 2 3/4 and 3”. Very rarely hangs up.

Would like to get a new shotgun with camo/synthetic stock. Just because I think they look good. But I can’t let go of my old 20ga

I don’t know if I see it in the correct light, but in my opinion in most cases a 12 does not have more power than a 20. A 12 is easier to hit a target with. The only time I think a 20 is stupid is if you are using buckshot for hunting.

You want an H&R .45/70?

I’ve got one. Bought it years ago when MS allowed them during muzzle loader.

Bitch is bad. Deer flop over on there side where they were standing. They’re dead before the hit the ground. You can use it for elephants too.

75% of the lead for 50% of the recoil. I can certainly see the draw for anyone who is recoil sensitive.

Throw out them pricey boss shells man!! They do a decent job but for the cost you can do way better in a 20ga.

I shoot a 12 but I load my own shells. I shoot a 2 3/4" duplexed TSS x Steel load. I can build my shells for about a 1.10 a shell and have way more killing ability than bismuth for cheaper.

I have recipes that are just duck killing machines in 20ga. Idk if you know anything about TSS but sweet baby Jesus there is nothing on this planet like it. I go to Tenn with a few friends every year and shoot with a guide we know and I always clean up on ducks going away that blow their minds. Those are all simple duplex loads.

Ditch the boss shells and have fun loading yourself! It costs less than 80 dollars to get the supplies in order to reload. You don't need an expensive reloader to do it.

Mind posting some links to the basic equipment? Always been interested in this but figured it would be close to a grand to get set up.

I used to do it when I was younger but I just dont have the time anymore to mess with it. We used to do it at a friends house over the summer in preparation for dove season and it would just take too long to do it with how often I shoot doves and sporting clays. I love TSS and the only reason I would get back into reloading is to create a badarse turkey load with TSS but I just dont have the time anymore

The second and third most impressive wing shooting I've ever seen was from a gentleman with a 20 gauge.

The third most impressive-
First time I ever hunted with my buddies dad he told me "I'm going to stand up three times today, each time I'll shoot 2 ducks, after the third time you're going to get the ranger and take me back to the shack" I told him he was full of it and then he proceeded to do exactly what he stated. 6 shots and he had a limit and I went to get the ranger.

2nd most impressive-
Next time I hunted with him he told me he was going to shoot a triple twice and I was going to get the ranger. He did it and I realized exactly where I stood as far as good shooting went.

For the same reason that they insist you have to have a 30.06 rifle to hunt deer.

Scale

Roll Crimper

Shotshell base optional

Roll Crimper
If you buy this roll crimper instead you don't need the base just a good work bench to lock on to.
