I agree. Used to cost me around $300 or more to hunt in Mississippi.

I know Texas will stick it to out of staters pretty hard.
When I go back to hunt or fish in La, its nice getting a discounted rate for being born in La. All I have to do is show my birth certificate and the price is extremely resonable.

Never heard that...how much does it cost you?

For one year MS license, its more than lifetime LA for me.

its $500 for lifetime la for residents. i usually buy a yearly fishing and hunting in ms. plus all my la. shite gets expensive.

I can get a 3 or 5 day hunting license (can't remember which one it is) for like 30 bucks. includes general hunting and big game.

Yep, it sucks. I purchase a Mississippi License ($400) and an Arkansas License ($400) every year. Live in Louisiana and don't even hunt here

We were looking into a few places in MS, but figured with 5 of us it'd save us $2k/yr by hunting in LA.

I missed it by one year the Texas lifetime combo just went from $1000 to $2000 this year.

I was told that we gut them so they gut us. Alabama was $90 for me a year.

What infuriates me is when paying enormous out of state fees to hunt public land. Its your Federal Tax dollars that paid for that National Forest, you shouldnt have to pay inflated fees to hunt land that you financed.
JMO...

Hell I have one even better for you...I own land in Mississippi, pay property taxes on it and still have to pay the same price as you guys...
I AGREE, ITS UNAMERICAN...
