Well we made the trip. Lessons learned this morning...
1: be sure to have charger for electronic caller
2: It takes a REALLY REALLY long time to tie up 100 trashbags to shish-ka-bob sticks
3: Geese don't make much noise in the fog
4: 30 shells & 200 +/- white trash bags is not enough decoys
5: Weather.com is full of shite when it comes to forecasting wind in the thornwell area
6: the "skeeters" in thornwell will carry you off if you are not careful
7: speckled belly geese apparently love white trash bags
The grand total for today was 1 snow goose & a few thousand mosquitoes. Tomorrow there will be twice as many trash bags in the field & we will have 2 callers.
Fishfighter is coming back for round 2. If anyone else wants to make the trip, shoot me an email for details...

If they stick around let me know I can't make it this weekend, but have about 1200 rags and another 200 sillyettes, plus another 100 full body decoys. Also have an e-caller.
To do it right and I mean right, takes about 800 at a minimum unless you are totally on the mother of all X's. Also takes about 2 hours to set up right. Lot of work but a day like today with the fog and all it is a PERFECT day to kill snow geese.
