It sucks though when I have to travel to different correctional facilities around the State because they are like 2-4 hours away, and it's a felony to even pull into the parking lot with a gun. So, I have to leave it at home.

I can bring one or a dozen, if I want. Very outdoors oriented workplace. A day off to go fishing or to your cabin is better than a sick day.

I actually have 4 but usually only carry one. The other 3 are between my vehicle and office

If all you do is sit at your desk, I will allow it.

Nope. Power plants, chemical plants, and other industrial plants don't allow it. Even when they are decommissioned it still seems to be frowned upon.

I can unless I go to court or prison.
At the Bridging the Gap CLE I attended right after I was sworn in (circa 2011), an old school small town north Louisiana general practitioner told all us baby lawyers to go out and buy a wheel gun, learn how to use, and keep it in our top desk drawer.

I have yet to heed his advice. But, to answer the OP's question, yes, I could carry a gun at my place of business.

LA needs to loosen its laws on hospitals.

I mean where else do you deeply touch the emotional and family lives of people and simutaneusly have zero control to screen out them based on character? Where else may you be called upon to stand your ground in denfese of another truly defenseless person?

Hmmm, I wonder if we know one another.

Yeah, every attorney I know carries. Seriously, we show each other what we're carrying that day.

:kige:

It's not so much a problem in Lake Charles, but in NOLA there were at least 2 active shooter situations while I was in the hospital.

We have had 4 gun threats in 3 years at our new office and I have seen guns not so well hidden inside of sagging pants more than once in the ER/newborn nursery.
