Might make the trip to mansfield in jan-march ‘27. Sounds like more and more guides are electing to camp out there durin 2-3 months over the winter. Would think it’d be getting pretty crowded soon

setting my noodles and flippers in some backwater and tying up under a shade tree for a cold beer and nap before checking them later.

There was a little dust up toward the end of this past season with a bunch of the home owners that rent out their places for the winter to the guides that come down, someone got mouthy at the local watering hole one night and rents pretty much doubled afterwards. Several guides left early as they were not booked 100% and could not absorb the extra expense, should be interesting this coming December. The remoteness and small available footprint for expansion will keep things from getting too crowded down there no matter how good it is. We are usually there for the week on the new moon of both January and February depending on when the Legends Tournaments fall, you don't want to be there for the two weeks prior to them coming to town (Corpus, Mansfield, SPI locations), it's a shite show on the water.

Don't go full throttle and watch your depth finder. Gotta stay in the old creek channel. Yes, it is kind of crooked getting back up in there til the creek narrows down.
