I only had to use it for a short time since the cat we had did stroke out and die not long after, but Chewy.com was where I was getting insulin, needles, and diabetic related food products at much better prices than at the Vet Clinic.

Didn't explore other options at the time but likely would have if the cat had lived a bit longer.

Vets can write prescriptions to any pharmacy, you dont necessarily have to buy the drugs directly from them in most circumstances. Have them send the script to Walmart or wherever you already get your scrpts for cheap. It may involve a modicum of insurance fraud but hey. Also be advised that real evidence and proof exists that some of the online shippers of pet drugs aren't always 100% whats on the label. Which can be very bad in some cases.

Online Indian Pharmacies. They all say the require a prescription but they don't. You get legit human meds from a pharmacy in your region, most of the time in the US, they are ordered from India but drop shipped from a localish distribution pharmacy.

Chewy and WalmartRX (for pets) had the same prices which were both higher than the local vet where I got the prescription. You have to mail your prescription into both Chewy and WalmartRX Pets

Yeah, I am looking for Comfortis. The place I would get it from no longer ships to USA.

The plus version is perfect if you don't have ticks.

Handles everything and it's reasonable with the exchange rate

Chewy and petmeds.

I have to get Theophilline. It's only available in chewable form at a couple of places. Chewy as it. Vetmedin is out of sight but petmeds is the cheapest when it's in stock.

A Morkie that I bought for my now 67 year old wife (no pics available, but she was very cute when we married) 11 years ago and our local vet recommended a prescription diet of dried dog and canned dog to supposedly reduce the incidence of bladder stones, etc. The prescribed dog food was 10 times more expensive than regular dog food, and you could order it from Chewy.com or other special vendors with a prescription. And, after “stealing her dogs affection” she bought a 4 lb long haired chihuahua for too many bucks she warned me that it was “her dog”. LOL

The point is, however, why are prescriptions required for special diets for pets? Are the vets receiving kickbacks?

I love our pet dogs since both my wife and I are retired (except for periodic consulting jobs since I retired) but our nearest grandchild lives 1.5 hours away in New Orleans, two grandsons in Shreveport 6 hours away, and a granddaughter in Malaysia about 35 hours flightime away.

That's not a question for vets or pharmas, that's a question for your FDA.
