When do you guys start weed n feeding your St. Augustine lawns (I'm in Lafayette/Broussard)? What's your preferred brand?

Anything else that you do at this time of year?

Ready for spring and garden season. . .

Never, the two should be done independently of each other, now is the time to "weed" use weed free zone or something similar that has 2-4-D in it, once your grass turns green for a few weeks then it is time to "feed" and just use any fertilizer that is specific to St Aug grass and do not use a catch all product that does all of the above

I live in Broussard. I usually use Scotts and do it Mid March.

So it's safe to start with the weeding now? I have a quart of 2,4-D, so I can mix it as instructed for St. Aug and be OK?

What is this? Will ti grow in shade?

I've always done the combined weed and feed in early-mid march and never had an issue.

St Aug is sensitive to 2 4 d, make sure you mix and apply as directed for st aug, and do not apply in the summer months

Zoysia is just a different type of grass. It is more droughtt olerant than st. Aug. Also not susceptible to cinch bugs. I think it is a far nicer grass.

I am not sure about shade but I do have it growing thick under 1 of my trees.
