Never, and birds too high to effectively kill.

I always shoot at them even if they are high. Im 100% guaranteed not to hit them if i dont shoot.

This is the stupidest thread.

We do it when we have my dog. If we go with with a friend or we don't have a good dog we show a little more restraint because I don't feel like chasing live birds around.

Never. They’re screwing up hunting everyone else

I never sky bust because i only shoot 2 3/4 inch shells out of an old wingmaster, but youre acting like youve never unloaded your gun on a group that wont quite commit late in a slow season... meh

If nothing passes within anti aircraft range all morning and at 9am a merganser passes at mach 1 150 feet, you can bet your sweet shiny arse I'm throwing a lick.

Otherwise not cool.

I shoot 3” with a kicks modified. If they’re within 50 yards, that’s a dead duck. I also don’t hunt public land, so if the big birds don’t want to work, they’re getting shot in the face while they pass by.

I ain't too proud to tell anybody that I've shot my own decoy before out of boredom. When I go duck hunting I'm gonna shoot something damnit.

I mainly only sky bust at non-committed specklebellies. If I can tell they aren’t going to commit, the next pass over the blind is going to be a loud one.

Only if I’m on public land and people decide to set up less than 100 yards from me after I have then I’ll do it to screw them over if any ducks work their area

I sling a 10 gauge to my rice field blind every time I go. I sky blast the shite out of questionably high passing geese. I've had a lot of luck doing it. Frick it

I'm in my early 30s and I still shoot the same 20 gauge 3 inch SKB for ducks that I started out with when I was young. I never sky blast ducks

I enjoy just watching the birds. Don't need to kill. Working them is to me is all that I need.

I believe skybusting has hurt our sport more than anything else. I’ve hunted Bayou Meto since the early 90’s and the difference in how the birds work is night and day compared to years past. Besides the overcrowding, there are a lot of people that have never really learned how to finish ducks. They assume that shooting them above the trees is how it’s done. These ducks have become educated to this, and don’t fly nearly as low as they used too. They definitely harder to get the bigger groups in like the old days. It’s sad that a once great place has turned into what it is today. People now days just treetop ducks in the hope that they wing one or two to display on Instagram later. Even with a 15 shell limit, it hasn’t seemed to help with the tree topping.

Saw that in a couple wma's. I'm old school. I get more out of hunting just watching, working birds in then killing. It has got to the point here in Louisiana that it is very hard to do so these days due to sky busting.
