Are gun bras legal or would they be considered hand bras?

Not so fast my friend. I am way more accurate with my 1911 than my Taurus 247, my Kel-Tec P11, or my brother's XDM that I've shot. I honestly feel confident that I can do as much, if not more, critical damage with 8 rounds of .45 screaming from the business end of it than I can with nearly twice the rounds from other guns I've shot. If needed, I can slam a new clipazine in quick enough that I wouldn't even really be at a big disadvantage quantity wise.
I don't know what that means about my marksmanship, it could mean I suck at shooting. But a blanket statement that 1911's aren't as effective because they hold less rounds, isn't always applicable.

I get that you are more accurate with a 1911. Most people are.

At the range.

That doesn't actually translate to many gunfight situations. You aren't shooting at the range with your adrenaline pegging out and you facing death in the next second. And that's why more ammo is better. Especially with pistols. And to say it's not is simply naive.

Look I'm not knocking the 1911 for what it is. I love them. But when I have the option of a modern firearm, I train up with a modern firearm.

Nostalgia can get you killed if things don't go exactly how you picture it in your head. And it usually doesn't.

I get what you are saying, however how often does a private citizen engage in a prolonged gunfight when carrying? I know it can happen, but how often does it happen?

If anything starts going down my first instinct is to get the frick out if possible. If escape is possible after a few shots then that is always the best option IMO.

Should the engagement happen in one's home where escape / retreat is not really an option then something better than a handgun should be used anyway IMO (shotgun FTW).

I agree completely. I just don't see why you'd intentionally limit your options when it's possible you are going to be that exception.

Fashion isn't a good enough reason.

I keep a glock in each nightstand and my 1911's put up.

That's a sign of someone that's not thinking emotionally about keeping himself alive.

Huh? How's that?

Because in my opinion, to choose a 1911 over a glock for self defense is an indulgence in emotional attachment to an inferior pistol for that particular job.

In the home a shotgun is better than both almost always.

Because modern 1911's don't exist?

Yeah, and your gunfight scenarios are just as applicable to any other handgun, so I fail to see how that point was at all relevant.

Are you suggesting that 1911's have no tactical advantages? Nah, you can't be saying something as stupid as that.

Feel free to expound here. I'd like to know why a Glock is obviously better than a 1911 for self-defense.

Why the false dilemma? Are there only 2 choices?

Personally, my go-to fighting pistol would be my Beretta 90 two. But if it's something I'll be lugging around for a while, I'll take a Ruger SR or a S&W M&P.

Glock's ergos just absolutely do not do it for me. I can't shoot them worth shite.

No problem. I'll keep it short.

You pull the trigger and it goes bang more than twice as many times as a 1911 without failures.

The end.
