I hear this all the time, mostly from folks who don't own one.

I guess Sig didn't get the memo about this. Mine has been 100% so far.

Hmm, there again, I guess Sig didn't get the memo. Mine holds 8+1.

Most successful handgun ever. It saved more lives, helped successfully execute many a mission, put down more enemies than any other side-arm in military histore'.

In fact, the USMC is ditching the crappy Beretta 9mm and going back to the Colt 1911.

It has seen fox-holes all over the world for over 100 years and has proved it worth many times over. It's the AK-47 of handguns, it can be full of sand, water and junk and still fire and out down an enemy in one shot.

Not too many other side arms can do that.

I've just purchased my first two 1911's (Colt & Kimber). I will own more. When compared to a polymer striker fired pistol (ex-Glock) the trigger on a 1911 is superior IMO. There's also the historical aspect to be considered. Customization is another attractive trait - the sky is the limit. Finally there's the "feel" of a 1911 in your hand - lets call it the ergonomics. If you've never held one I'd suggest you do so.

I'll take a Colt 1911 over a Glock any day in a fire fight.

I like to go by the old saying.... 1911's are what you show your friends, glocks, hk, m&p are what you show your enemies

I like both. Don't see why you can't appreciate each for it's merits.

But honestly, I carry my 1911 more cuz it looks f$%king cool!

Not at all - I own multiple Glocks and 1911's. But I own them for different reasons. From strictly a magazine capacity standpoint I would choose a Glock in the instance listed above.

It is utterly impossible to have a discussion about 1911s without Glock fans raining on the parade.

It will never happen here or any other forum.
