Most people see Ospreys down there and think they are eagles. There is a healthy pop in blind river though

Green jeans wrote me up 2 seasons ago for shooting over a baited field. Eagles love the taste of DDT so I pour a bunch of it on the ground by the reservoir and wait.

If you kill any bird of prey, you are a dick and you get an automatic native curse.

Enjoy them while u can. We actually had a juvenile hang with us to snag struggling throw backs on Mobile bay and the kids duck hunting said one grabbed a duck they shot they same day

In all seriousness, I saw an episode of Texas Law (I think that’s the name - it’s where they follow game wardens around) and they recovered a dead bald eagle. According to the game warden, once a lab has a look at it to see cause of death, certain parts of the bird are donated to Native American tribes who use them for different things. I thought that was interesting.

Why would anyone want to kill a bald eagle? I just don't get it.

My duck lease in Gibson - you have to pick up your ducks right after you shoot them or the eagles will scoop them up…. Things are relentless and it’s loaded with em

I know a couple places up north you can pick up hundreds dead under wind generators so it must be OK to kill them. I hear once they go bald they’re tough .

I have to admit, with all the shite going on in the world its nice to see a strong comeback by such a native American bird.

Unless they’re going to enforce restrictions against the commercial harvesters, they need to leave recreational harvesters alone. The 3-4 I shoot every year isn’t the problem.

St Mary Parish has had a huge population of Eagles for years. Nothing new. We have plenty of Scissor-Tailed Kites this time of year as well.

I've seen close to 10 in the last year around southern Baldwin County, AL

On of them was fishing on the edge of Mobile Bay and lit about 100 yards from where we were sitting.

Terrebonne parish is ground zero for Louisiana eagles Majority head way north for summer but some stick around I remember when seeing an eagle was a big deal

Very true. Bayou Black swamp and the area off Prospect between Bayou Blue and 182 have quite a lot of eagles. Quick story, I am on Savanne Rd and about to turn on Valhi when I see this eagle flipping and having a hard time flying about 20’ off the ground. I thought I was going to have to call LWF but as I got closer I noticed he had a live egret in his claws. It was flapping and causing erratic flying. Felt like I should have been in Yellowstone watching it.
