Bull, caught them in Simmesport also.
Caught a flounder in 30" canal after a storm, sheepshead in Belle River off pier on Graveyard island. In 2001, I was limiting on specs, 1-2miles south of Berwick landing daily for a couple weeks.

Damn, those bastards scare the shite out of me. We had one swim by our dock on Voss canal one night, he was of keeper size. I think the alligators got out of the water.

I would not have figured it out, but friend was catfishing off a sandbar and caught one and told me birds were diving. We had been running to 4 league bay area, sure as shitting eased down river and found the birds diving. Probably one of the best stretches of catching I've had. Water was at record lows that year.

that's pretty impressive bc correct me if im wrong all the water for that watershed has to flow through the bottom of the outlet at Lake Palourde, correct?

blacktips near the twinspans all the time but obviously there's a decent amount of salt there. A good spinoff would be how far into saltwater have you caught freshwater fish. Caught a largemouth bass and a few bluegill on shrimp by the twinspans as well. You really never know what you're going to pull up out there.

caught some nice size bass in delacroix while fishing for reds, mind you we were in the marsh closer to the landing so it had more of that fresh water from the Caernevon (sp) diversion flowing thru there

I caught a bass by the boat launch at West End.

Yes, neighbor caught a red also. It happens in that area more than you'd realize. Go in Bayou Black marina there's a picture of a tarpon caught in lake hackberry after Gustav.

Where I grew up. Never heard of anyone catching a sheapshead. Cool - if true.
