I agree I dislike the actions of the redfish tower tournament douche bags.

The paddle fairy's do the same thing.

You also have pricks that pull up to a landing in front of the launch, get the boat ready to launch which takes along time, and finally launch their boat.

I am guilty also if I go fishing by myself I have to get out of the truck and move the boat out of people's way. I blame that on all you pricks that do not want to go fishing with me. Spillway I go after 7am if I am by myself to not deal with the tournament guys and the commercial fisherman.

Toledo Bend the best time I had was when the lake was so low you had very few launches that you could get on the lake and fish from. It was around Labor Day 2011 or 2012. There were a few people it was just awesome having that lake as it seemed almost all to yourself. That year I caught 2 -10 lbers and found a school of 6lb to 8lb bass by the dam of all places. After all those years of having a place on the lake I really had respect for how large it is not having many boats around.

I fish by myself a lot and I launch my 20' bay boat and get out of the way a hell of a lot faster than some of those damn yak riders do. I dont have to load all my shite in the boat on the ramp and take snapchats and make sure my hair is fixed right while blocking up the ramp either though.

Kayakers can be slow AF. I make sure to get all my crap loaded right off to the side and slip in in between boats

Years ago, a good friend had a camp on Grand Bayou out of Empire. We were down there one weekend catching the hell out of trout where a little bayou emptied into a little bay. Some locals in two boats bull their way past us on the bayou and enter the little bay and set a big seine net right in front of where we were fishing.
A lot of curse words were exchanged and we left.

On Sunday we went home. My friend received a phone call during the week by a neighboring camp owner that my friend's camp had been burned down.

A few months later he bought another camp that you could drive to, had a boat hoist, and had electricity. It was located inside the flood gates on the side of the bridge in Empire. A few months later, that camp too was burnt down.

He gave up on Empire and bought a place in Lafitte.

?? what yakers are using the ramp to launch?

Thats on of the best things I like about yaks is I can launch off to the side and take my time to get things organized.

LOL at you smucks who have to use the "special" place to launch your boat.

Just go take a seat at any popular marsh fishing launch on the weekend. Delecroix and hopedale are especially terrible

You can't fish waters the public can't access. He talked himself right into that trying to run me off "private" water only he could fish.

And every tourney has a catch-all "sportsmanship" rule. Surely you don't think he broke that rule too.

Half the fun of being in a kayak is camando launching off a 4ft bulkhead at low tide. There is little to no excuse for a yak to take up a boat launch spot.

Man this is a tough one for me to pick a side. I hate me a redfish tournament douche plowing up the marsh, but I hate me a damn paddle fairy blocking up the boat ramp too.

I am conflicted.

Many more power boat users block launches than kayakers do. I and virtually every one I fish with might use a boat launch 1 out of 20 times.

That aside, once we're on the water who cares what you're fishing out of? Don't be trash, don't try to intimidate someone out of a spot when the other guy got there first.

And some of us push back against bullies and assholes. I don't give 2 shits what the a-hole who runs up on me or tries to push me out of a spot thinks of me.

best one I remember was years ago, while running lines with my dad, we came across a bassfag cutting catfish off the line. as he was calling my ol man a mother--- he got split wide open with a boat paddle. I had to jump in the boat and get our fish, and that dude was bleeding and cryin and floppin around like a little bitch. I don't understand how some people can steal from u and think there is no karma.

Honestly, it needs to happen a lot more. lol

don't even get me started about the boat landing.

fishing LN bridge several years ago when i was about 15 in my flat boat. We got there and pulled up to about 5 boats on a Saturday in the summer. If you know anything abut this spot you know it is not uncommon to have 30+ boats along the bridge. Anyways, we pulled up and tied to the bridge about 20-30 feet from a charter guide, but on the FAR end, basically, we took our spot in the line of boats. the entire time i was parking the boat the guide was cusssing us and taking pictures of my boat thinking i was going to hit his boat (never came close) . we started fishing and had a banner day, we were on the elusive "spot" that is so hard to find on that bridge, legit dropping live shrimp straight down and reeling up reds ands specks almost every cast, a-hole guide and his clients could not buy a bight, and when they finally did it was a 11 inch trout that the guide proceeded to measure while i told him from the bow of my boat "Cmon, you know that fish isnt legal!" he got so pissed he picked up and left after one more round of cussing.

I fish both in a kayak and tower boat. You are right some of those guys in tower boats are real assholes. If you look closely most aren’t from LA. They will have FL or TX numbers. Not saying there aren’t a few bad apples from LA. Guys that burn banks are assholes period. If I see kayaks while I’m in my boat I’ll go buy them without trying to disturb any of the area they are fishing. I’ve even offered them rides to spots I know are holding reds. Most decline but I’ve had a couple take me up on it. I’ve also been in a yak and had a tower boat from SC buzz a shoreline I was working in Reggio. I was pissed. I should have taken a pic and emailed the tournament director. He was prefishing but still.

I know there has to be some good stories between the spillway landing, private canals in the marshes, etc.

Best one I got is it was super high tide down in golden meadow and some Bobby Bouche dad looking guy couldn't fathom how we ended up in "his" canal....I could be mean but I wont.
do you not remember the early days when CCA was working to ban gill nets... roofing nails all over the roads at and at launches...
