Gun I have an itch for is Ruger 9mm carbine. Can use Glock magazines.

I’m intrigued by the keltec su16 series.
5.56
And yes, the bipod (i would never use it) looks crazy but the folding stock with no buffer makes this a top 5 truck gun for me.

I do want an AK of some sort. I love the sound, like you know when someone is popping off an AK. Plus, I don’t have one and I love firearms that nobody really has. Kinda show off to my “all I need is my glock” buddies.
Sounds like a WASR10 or ZASTAVA ARMS AK47 ZPAP would fill your need. The Zastava is about $800.

For some reason I have a hard time replying to this thread without a white can fence post pic in OP

Remington V3 TAC-13 12ga

Well, I'd say the stereotypical truck gun pistol used to be a Ruger P series, metal frame. Rugged, ugly enough not to worry about, cheap, reliable. I guess nowadays the S&W SD/Sigma line fits that.
For the mini-rifle crowd, I guess any AR 'pistol' with a good brace (read: able to shoulder it) fits the bill. I have to say, I don't want to think about .556 in an enclosed area like inside a car or truck.
Also, a Shockwave if you're so inclined. I give the edge to that over the Remington, because of the OpSol insert that allows perfect function of the mini shells. I have seen a brace for the Shockwave that seems like it would convert from a hipshooter to a truly functional shotgun, too.
But for the price involved in that, I'd rather just toss a cheap 18" barrel 12 gauge pump into the truck. I have something that cost $100 used, has a 3 inch chamber, and the barrel is legally long enough. It isn't much longer than my Shockwave, and infinitely easier to shoot confortably.

I actually have a judge, and it was a truck gun at one point, but it’s my dedicated snake charmer.
For others in earlier threads who have mentioned locking a gun in the trunk of a car to prevent theft, just remember that all a thief has to do is break a window to reach the trunk release on most newer model cars.

That's why my truck gun in also my CC gun. I just can't for the life of me leave a gun in my truck on a permanent basis.

Is there any paperwork or tricky laws associated with it?
Posted on 7/19/19 at 4:13 pm to dstone12
Nope, BATFE considers it a "pistol".
Likewise the Remington I posted earlier is a "firearm" and NOT a sawed off shotgun, SBR or AOW and needs no NFA/Class 3 paperwork.

Taurus G2c all day - its compact and still holds 12 rds. Shoots well for me. Triggers not great but the price is very affordable.
