They aren't cheap, but they are worth the cost. I had them on my 07 Tacoma and loved them. If they made them in the size I wanted I'd have them on my '12.

This is at 80k miles

I have them, but they are really too much for someone who barely ever goes in the mud. Just a waste of money for him.

Get something like BFG Rugged or Long Trails or something more street-oriented. Maybe a Dueler AT

I'm gonna buy the new Toyo AT II extremes when I get new tires next spring. I've recommended them to 2 of my buddies and they love them. They're Toyo, so they're not cheap , but they are pretty aggressive and rated really good. Certain bigger sizes come in the "extreme" version which is deeper tread and a little bit thicker sidewall

Bfg at are my favorite..

However!

The michilin ltx AT we have on our pipeline f150 4x4 are fricking unreal. We have put them tires through some shite out in our field runs. Have not been stuck yet. I am extremely impressed with them. They have small knobs extending outside the tread base pattern.

I have a set of Bridgestone Revo 2 all terrains on my Z71 and have been happy with them so far. They aren't overly cheap though...

Had the same tires on my '09 Z71 and got over 90,000 miles on the set that were on the truck when I bought it new.

Cooper Discoverer AT3

I just put four 275/60/20s on my truck + road hazard warranty for a hair over $1000. 55,000 mile tread life warranty and no highway noise. Can't comment on their off-road capabilities, but general consensus seems to be that they are good. Give them a look for sure.

I'll second the people recommending the cooper zeon LTZ's. I had them on my last truck and they were good tires.

Never heard anyone complain about their A/Ts or their M/Ts, but the A/Ts are supposed to be the top dog.

Update: Think I'm going with Cooper. What's the largest tire I can fit without rubbing? I current have P265/60R18 but they are highway tires and they quite don't fill out the wheel well. It's an XLT supercrew FWIW

33 inch tires will fit just fine and might be able to get slightly bigger.
