Bought a 31 foot century for 35k. I think it's a 2002. In great shape. Craigslist. Found someone going through a divorce

New boat in 2019. Frontier 2104 with powder coated upgrade console and lean bench for 40k (boat, motor [200 Yamaha], trailer). Added Lowrance, I-pilot, and power pole for near 50 all said and done. I’d do it again. Hope this helps.

seems like a decent deal but i dont like deep vee hulls, they ride well in rough water but they arent worth a shite for marsh fishing in shallow water, they are better suited for deper waters

2015 Legend V20 w/ a merc 250 pro xs. Had it built, bought new and it’s decked out. It was right at $90k when all said and done. Be hard pressed to find a better bass boat. Where I’m at now on the upper Mississippi you need a tin rig with a mud motor to compete in many of the tournaments though lol.

He could probably get 25 for it if he throws it up on THT

Man, if I could tow that I'd go check it out. Rav4 does great on a little skiff, don't think it could handle that thing.

Not that there's anything wrong with that boat, but I don't see anyone paying $25k for a 33yr old 20' hull and a 17yr old outboard.

In 2010 I paid $16,500 for a 2008 - 18' Nautic Star with a 90 hp Mercury. He included a waterproof stereo/speakers, 5 life jackets, a boat cover, rod holders, a paddle, and anchor. I'll never see a price that low again.

I didnt want to say anything, but thats my thoughts with the price at $16k. As crazy as prices are, there are far newer boats for less.

Looks like a nice clean boat though.

FWIW There are a lot of Sea Craft loyalists. Not Boston Whaler scale but it's definitely a thing.

Real curious as to what prices were for new boats especially prior to 2020.

I'm assuming you are trying not to buy a newer boat and lose your arse.

It seems most people including myself assume the boat market is in a bubble. People were limited in activities during Covid so a lot of boats were purchased, and then Covid shut down the supply chain so new boats and boat parts on backorder.

So the demand was very high and the production low, perfect storm for high prices. The problem is there are still supply chain issues (new motors taking 1 year plus to get in some situations). So, should you wait? No one really knows when they will drop.

I've seen mid 70s sea crafts go for well over 75 with new engines on THT

In 2010 I drove from Houston to Fort Walton Beach to buy a brand new hull only 2008 Blue Wave 2200 Pure Bay and trailer for $9K. It was in the midst of the financial crisis and a boat dealer in Miami had gone belly up and the FWB dealer had picked up some inventory (150 HP Yamaha had been removed by previous dealer). He begged me to take a second hull (exact make and model) at half that price, and like a dumbass I turned him down.

Got it back to Houston and powered it with a new '09 200hp E-Tec. Purchased and self installed a new power pole, 36V minn-kota, Garmin 545, VHF, and marine stereo. Ended up being all-in at $28K. 13 years later and I have 2600 HRS on the motor (Did cost me $4K for a rebuild two years ago) and its hands down been the best boat purchase I have ever made.

I would rather not speak of the other two boat purchases I have made in that same time frame.

Early 2020 bought a 2017 Southbay 523RS 3.0 w/ 200 Yamaha (19 hours) for $37k. Pristine condition and had it shipped down here from Minnesota. From what I've seen as far as tritoons go, could probably sell it between $45-50k

Guess I didn't realize they were so coveted. Seems a little crazy, but not my money.

Right...but also trying to be realistic and very specific about my search for my next one.

Thinking through how if someone paid 65K in 2021 for what "should have been" a 50K boat - how does that affect the likelihood that boat becomes a good option for me when they want to sell it and what they've got to have in 2023....Admittedly, I'm overthinking this, but this is the kind of stuff that i ponder...

That's the ones. People with more money than me buy them get them redone. Well done rebuilds fetch a pretty penny.
