A prop cut might make sense too. But I'm nearly positive it isn't from a turtle or another fish. That cut is too clean for that.

Lake is about 5-6 foot deep. Pretty much fresh water except with really really strong south winds, like tropical storms.

This. We caught one with same wound Monday and my pond is prop free. However we do have the ocassional waterturkey or herons.
