If you're talking about the battery powered ride-on toys, I'm thinking the next logical step might be an electric scooter or electric mini dirt bike. Some models have speed limiters.

please be careful with the next step. I can’t even count the damn funerals and wouldn’t wish the loss of a child on my worst enemy.

Avoid those damn kid 3 wheelers, safer with a go cart. Side by Sides are 100000 times safer and getting cheaper. we will have complete battery powered beast by the time your son in hunting

Went through 2 power wheels. We are on 2 acres and they did the job okay. Got tired of short battery life and the plastic wheels getting stuck. Bought a 36 volt Razor in March 2020 and it has been great, pneumatic knobby tired, no getting stuck. About a 4 hour battery life. Recharge takes 10 hours or so. Weighs about 60 pounds and is s beast. Used s special key to change speeds. My now 4 1/2 yr old is still on speed 2. It’s s fast trot for me to keep up with. Plenty fast. Lots of torque, spins out in mulch/dirt on takeoff. Bought him a helmet because it is plenty fast and we have trees. 2nd speed too fast for him and 3rd speed… out of the question. Wide track and he has never turned it over, Highly recommend.

convert that 12volt battery to a 24volt system, it'll go faster.

My kid had one of these : Razor MX350 Dirt Rocket 24V Electric Motocross Blue

It would go about 15 mph and he rode the tires off of it, I guess he was 7 or 8 when we got it.

The toys keep get more expensive, I just bought mine his first car
