If you can get the water below the grass line in November the bass and catfish will eat everybody all winter. Make sure it’s full by the end of Feb.

1/2 with crappie will be devoid of all fish in a little while...they will breed like fleas and eat like hogs until they are all thats left and then all thats left to eat is themselves.

Not sure why you got a downvote because that sounds like a detailed plan that comes from experience.

I need to look into turtle traps for our neighborhood pond. And now we have 2 4ft gators. Smh...

Hard to beat an old H&H spinner bait. I like chartreuse, but that's just me.

VA DWR

quote:

All ponds have a maximum weight of fish the pond can support. In unfertilized ponds, you should be able to harvest up to 40 pounds of adult bluegill (about 120 fish) and 10 pounds of adult bass (about 8 to 10 fish) per acre per year. In fertilized ponds, you can harvest 160 pounds of bluegill (600 to 700 fish) and 35 to 40 pounds of bass (30 to 35 fish) per acre per year

Me and my 7 year old at the time both caught bass over 8 lbs. And numerous 5,6,7 lbs on weightless trick worms. And his biggest one came on a pink and orange yum dinger (Senko)

That seems way off even in unfertilized pond. I have a 1.5 acre pond but have to keep way way more bass than that to keep them in check.
