The argument I hear most often from non-pro fishing followers is that FFS is depleting the resource. As far as pros go, if everyone can use it, what's really the issue?

Crappie/ white perch spawn like crazy. Most suggest for private lakes to keep every crappie you ever catch or they will take over.

Not many are keeping the bigger bass.

That seems like a lazy argument but I also understand it.

agree 100%

Thats why its so dumb that dynamite and gill nets are outlawed. Its just another tool in the toolbox.

I’ve seen several times where high schoolers who are pretty good at catching the deep fish in winter with FFS completely lost on waters that aren’t set up for that type of fishing Same with some pros. They just can’t catch without it Seen them not even come to weigh in and just leave with their tail tucked

What is FFS?

Based on reading some of these responses, it’s a button you press at the ramp that will automatically drive your boat directly to the heaviest school of fish on any lake and then scoop them all into the livewell for you, all while you kick back rocking a sick flatbill sipping celsius and jamming Morgan wallen.

Boy you and me both!!!

Thankfully we fish south where ffs really doesn’t come in to play but we do travel to Caney and got our tails handed to us last year.

Lol you know damn well these kids that exclusively use FFS don't do shite in tournaments if they have to use other knowledge unless they are pitching to beds.

I've been using it since 2021. I can tell you unequivocally the fish are now smarter/more conditioned than they were back then.

I don't hate it at all in general. But when I watch a pro tournament on television, it's boring as hell to watch a guy troll around the middle of a lake staring at a screen without casting. It's much more exciting...and relatable to how I fish...to watch a guy work a frog over a fallen tree or punch thick cover.

So I "hate" it for televised pro tournament use.

I don't care what the pros do, I'm still using it.

This is why I never watch smallmouth tournaments.

So how many of the MLF Bass Pro Tour Tournaments did you watch this year?

Not sure on the exact number but if I put it on and all they're doing is staring at screens in the middle of the lake (smallmouth fishing), I'm out. I follow Wheeler's channel on YouTube as well and skip the largest part of the videos that are like that. I do like that they only allow FFS for one period now.

I have a nephew on the college circuit. I'll have to call him and ask him what he thinks.

The majority of the last couple BASS Pro Tour events were won by guys that hardly used FFS.

DC won Red Crest and I think he caught one fish on FFS the entire weekend.
