Lake Chuck for the weekend. Left with 5 reds, a trout, and 35+ bass!

How close to the salt water barrier were you?

Went to Rockefeller Sunday morning to try the shrimp and crabs. Neither were running worth a shite and the water was very fresh. I took the few shrimp we did catch and fished the canal behind the game wardens camp. Little REB and I ended up with 14 really nice specks up to 18". With just a few throw backs.

Fished golden meadow Sunday. Caught my limit on a fly, plus some prehistoric drum.

We have had a lot of fresh water in the last month. Where'd you fish to catch that many bass?

I wish, I went the cheap route on this combo. its a "Maxcatch Avid" off amazon. It held up well against 5 reds and some 30 pound drum.

Turkey hunted on saturday morning in Decatur, Tx. Gorgeous day. Snuck into a creek bottom close to where the birds have been roosting. Hen flew down in range, followed by a tom. This guy hit the ground and immediately went full strut. Watched him prance around for a bout 5 minutes or so then pulled the trigger as soon as he pulled his head up. Was a 15 minute hunt.

We went back into the marsh. The lake was way to fresh and the wind was blowing way too much to even attempt to catch anything there.
