Rent the ditch witch. Home Depot used to rent tools and equipment on Friday and you got it all weekend for the price of one day.

Just used a weedeater to put down a wire for dog fence. Don't know how big of cut you need but it worked for me. It's good for a couple of inches.

A middle buster will get down with many passes. Check with your electric company to see if they have X depth for electrical lines. Here, it is 3'.

Yes, I would bury it in conduit and at least 2 ft deep.
Also, do yourself a favor and run two extra conduits for future improvements.
You should also think about running water lines too,

What size shed?
Do you know your power requirements? (just lights and maybe a light use receptacle, or will yo be using heavy power tools, maybe a welding machine?)

No cable or water lines where it's at. Shed is about 10x14. Will need lights and outlets. Probably going to set it up for a small deep freezer also. I have some one coming to run the wire inside the shed, but I got to get it to the shed first.

I called Home Depot yesterday and the lady I spoke with said they did rent them and she would get me a price, then she hung up on me! Customer service is lacking greatly these days.

Water, power and cable. Just soon put it in the trench that's open.

Most Home Depots that have tool rentals have a Groundsaw. Cuts a great narrow trench. Be sure to call OneCall to mark your lines.

Called Home Depot. $189 for an overnight rental with a $300 deposit. Lowes doesn't rent them.

I think I rented one from a local rental place and it was $60 a day.

$180 sounds high. Do they have a AAA Rental or something up there?

Alexandria has a couple rental places, they were closed yesterday when I was calling around. We have an ace hardware, but they said there's was broke and wasn't sure when it would be fixed.
