Is the stock hinged or something to dampen recoil?

For sure, following that group could discourage a man of lesser will power. There are some guys hunting local canadas killing the shite out of banded birds.

On the other side though, it's a cool group. It has quite a few biologist on there as well that do banding. They post cool shite like this...

A banded blonde mallard, she's still alive to our knowledge today.

Some sort of recoil dampener I think.

Thanks.

Yeah, Clyde, that's pretty cool. The banding program is pretty cool. I once shot a big greenhead back in '97 that was banded, but the numbers were worn slick.

I killed a banded Ross' goose in Thornwell, LA in 1994. Haven't killed a banded bird since. I've been in the blind to see 3 banded ducks over the years, but never had a claim to any of them.

One was when I was sitting next to Hardhead who posted in the thread earlier. Single wood duck comes by, he pops one shot and crumples her. Banded.

Oh yeah, worst part of the story. That band was later stolen from you on your Arkansas hunt.

People are crazy.^

The last one I might've shot, me and my friend shoot up some wood ducks, I give mine to him. so he gives them to his neighbor, an old Cajun man, when Cajun man asks if he wants this band off one of the ducks? WE didn't even check them. Getting old sucks.

I've got a buddy who has probably killed 10 or so woodies this year that fly straight from the banding site a few miles away.

We draw for bands in our group. A few years ago, we shot 2 banded mallards in the same volley. 4 guns, 50/50 shot, nada for me. I am ofer probably 10 over the years on the draws. I have shot one banded mallard and one pintail, I also got one from a snow goose.

Probably would have not gotten busted if he would have been more normal about this and posted a pic of just one band. 3 bands in one hunt screams fake.

Yes, it's called a Beretta Kick-off system. It's integrated into the stock and butt pad.

Follow-up question for all:

Which is worse? Lying Banded goose guy or a guy bragging about a killing a trophy mount that he had actually shot while spotlighting?

Valid points regarding the illegality of the 2 scenarios.

I just assumed that Goose was hunting out of season, before shooting hours and with an unplugged gun loaded with lead shot. I wouldn't put it past him.
