I’m going to buy a couple Wilson Combat AR’s for my next couple of AR’s.

80% lower and build your own, or BRN 180!

What's your max price range? What's your purpose for the rifle?

For higher end, I'd stay with DD, BCM, FN or LWRC. Bcm will probably be the cheapest of these options.

For under $1000, the IWI Zion is a great option, but most rifles in that price range aren't going to be much better than your S&W, other than better furniture and aesthetics.

I’m really impressed with everything I’ve gotten from them.

BCM, JP, SOLOGW, and ADM would all be great options.

it’s your money but I doubt moving up “a little” from the SW is going to be a noticeable improvement in shooting. There’s very little that the SW can’t do for the average shooter

it’s a little Spartan I’ll give you but you could spend money on a better trigger, furniture and and optic

Pick out an upper, a lower and your BCG & charging handle. Assemble your own. Much more control of the quality.

I love Aero Precision stuff with the R one rail.

Love my ADM. I'd also throw in Triarc systems, Larue and Noveske along with the other brands mentioned.

If you're not getting a AR pistol, go with a mid length gas system.

Wouldn't mind one myself.

I’ll add Sionics to the list. Primary arms had some stock a few days ago. They may still have some, but it’s worth waiting for a 12% off coupon code

I agree with this but be warned. It is a slippery slope.

As one guy said, he can have a spare gas tube roll pin and want to build another rifle around it.

The Zion is the best deal going right now. For $750, it's an absolute steal.

Honestly, you could just buy a Zion and then throw a Criterion barrel on it for $280, and you'd have a better rifle than basically anything under $1500.

Add in a LaRue trigger for $100, and for about $1100, you'd have a tack driving, rugged SoB that will probably outlast you.
