Honestly, I don't find the cop argument persuasive from either side. Cops are like people; some of them are very knowledgeable about firearms and some don't know crap about them other than they shoot once a year to qualify.

Yes its a marketing gimmick, not the fact that Walther was decades behind in copying Glock with a polymer framed striker fired pistol....in a market Glock had a strangle hold on decades before the Walther hit the shelf.
