Yeah, you got screwed by the person sending the gun saying you have to do a transfer. RIA sends you a shipping label and you ship them the gun from your house.

How much did that one run you? I like a flush fitting mag for 1911s and maybe that's purist in me

That's just a web image for the grips I ordered, but I actually prefer the bottom pad on the magazine. Gives more real estate to grab onto to remove the mag should it not drop out cleanly.

This is the gun I ordered from my first post in this thread. It was $299:

On which I'm putting these grips on:

So are we talking an old arse 1911 made decades ago by TISAS?

Or are we talking about a clone of the 1911A1?

Tisas wasn't founded until 1993 so I'm certain they're referring to a clone.

One can be had now for about $320:

The gun I originally posted is no longer on sale for 299. However, these are two completely different guns for different purposes. The SD9 is more easily concealed, if that's what you're looking to do. SD9 is smaller and lighter but also holds 5 extra rounds (15+1 vs 10+1). The 1911 will have less felt recoil thanks to the extra weight of the all metal frame vs the SD9's polymer frame.

Also, and I can't personally speak to this, but the S&W SD series hasn't had the best history. I know they're on Mod 2.0 now but I don't know if the generational changes have changed its checkered past.

You can likely rent the SD series and a 9mm 1911 at gun ranges if you want to check them out.
