Well I was in retail on the construction side and got laid off in may.
Just got a job with an electrical company today.
Glad to be busy.

My buddy did it. Those girls are not exactly the cream of the crop as far as mankind goes. Brought him down a wormhole that landed him in EBRPP for a year

I had a campus job and was barely squeaking thru college until I started bartending. I made good money my last 3 years of school and had a great time. You could get a job as a waiter and make good money too. It also teaches you about customer service. Plus you will meet lots of people.
When my 2 kids get to the age of needing a job, I will definitely try to get them to work in a nicer restaurant.

Bartenders make shite loads of money. A lot of my buddies worked their way up at Fred's, and were living handsomely

I worked at Harley Davidson for a little bit while at LSU. It was pretty cool, didn't pay much.

Work as many jobs as you can to get experience in many fields, not about making money now. Work jobs that teach you something about major trades that not many people will do but will pay good money to have it done. Saves you money down the road. Working retail teaches you customer service and markup, but that's about it. Bar tending/waiter teaches you customer service and pharmaceuticals.
Construction: work on your future house or helping future employer fix office.
Automotive: fix your on ride or employer's minute care troubles.
Agriculture/Landscaping: you'll be able to repair anything, take care of your lawn.
Also will teach you what nasty, scorching arse hot work is and how much you'll appreciate a good career down the road

I've worked a number of jobs through school. Learned the most at the grunt jobs that were in the heat... pallet plant, meatpacking plant, machine shop, state wildlife department, landscaping, construction. The "coolest" jobs had A/C. Bartending, waitstaff, runner for accounting firm, data entry at a bank, retail. Those jobs also had female co-workers... the grunt jobs were all hardlegs.

I sold tools at a hardware stpre for a couple of years. I enjoyed it and learned a lot.
Those kind of things might not make you any more money in life, but when you are old and married, youll be glad you have that kind of knowledge.

Coolest job is in an icehouse..... If not that kind of cool, try fleshlight tester.

Where would be a good place to work as a college student low on spending money?
Beach Chair rental guy. You will be at work early and stay late, so money cant be spent while working. You meet lots of people and girls. You can make a lot of money, if you have a good area. But the jobs get taken up really quick.

I worked at a Pawn shop all through undergrad. Learned all sorts of stuff. And in job interviews that's the thing people always ask about.

All true, but it's very physical work and really hard on your body. If you just do it for a couple years it's no problem. My friends would make more than a grand a day in tips on holiday weekends like the 4th. It's also cool because you don't have to do much other than setting up and breaking down depending on where you work, so you can surf for the rest of the day (or learn if you don't know how). I spent a ton of time in the panhandle over summers staying with my friend when I was younger. We'd be at his beach by 6:30-7. Set up by 9. Surf until like 11 if there were waves, then come in and take names, then surf until 3 and breakdown. We met lots of girls and two weeks of running chair sets shits all over p90x.

If you truly want to do something and that is working at Cabelas, Jim's, Bowies or anyplace and it's what YOU want to do, get out and do it!! YOU can do anything you put your mind to, don't assume you can't, remove can't from your brain and work on what you CAN do!
I hate to be that guy, well, no I don't. In reality OP can't do anything he wants no matter how much he sets his mind to it. He could never be president, never play in NFL, NBA, etc. Honestly, nobody in this thread could do in life what they truly wanna do or wanted to be when they grow up. Anyhow, good luck OP.
