Definitely, I use it as a power BFS reel. I mainly throw 1/4 oz, but also a lot of 1/8 oz. I was throwing a 1/16 oz crappie jig with it in the backyard the other day and it excelled at it.
Wish Shimano would have set it up a little looser for just a little more distance. Set on braid 1, the reel still doesn’t even try to backlash, even with fluoro. It still casts as far or further than my Metanium MGL so I can’t really complain.

I've tried the curado 150 dc and the metanium 70 dc, and I just dont like how it feels.
Functionally, theyre great. And I dont mind the whine, but the reel feels like it is trying and i dont like that level of feedback.
Something like an Aldebaran, or a Calcutta Conqiest SE just feels so effortless.
Kind of disappointing too because that Met 70 DC is expensive. I dont know - I will probably give it another couple trips to grow on me.

I bought a Daiwa Alphas SV TW 800S for shad raps and have been extremely pleased with it.

I have a Daiwa Alphas BF TW and it is great. I have several different BFS reels, including Aldebarans, and the Alphas is the most user friendly.
What line are you using on those shad raps? 10lb mono?

If the met mgl b was a 70 size and not a 150, I would be down. I much orefer the smaller frame reels.

Lucky you. My curatos constantly got water inside the reel and the bearings would go out. Switched to daiwa and had less issues

Sometimes I wish it wasnt. I would be a wealthier man without it.
I caught myself thinking "I havent spent that much on gear lately", then I checked my digitaka order history and was reminded of several large purchases I made.

I have 2 Curado's that I have smoked drag washers in a couple of times each catching snook and smaller tarpon. Not the reels fault, they ain't designed for fish that size....but I have some Garcia 5500Cs from the early 80s that I have similar sized fish with plus sooooo many double digit stripers I couldn't count em and never had any issues with them.....

My last order was placed on a Thursday and delivered to my house in BR on Monday.
I know recently they were having a big end of summer sale so that may delay orders somewhat.
The longest its ever taken was a little over a week and that was due to fedex stupidity in the US.
