Friends,

I hope you are well. I have spent the week at Auburn University exploring this interesting land during a time when there are no people here. It makes being outdoors quite pleasant. Auburn is a beautiful place and I would like to share with you the top ten flowers I have discovered on campus. If you would like to further tour Auburn University and the area, I also have these posts, which should continue to grow in length,

TulaneLSU's top 10 staircases of Auburn University
TulaneLSU's Top 10 trees of Auburn University
TulaneLSU's Top 10 pizzas of Auburn, AL
TulaneLSU's guide to Goodwater, AL
TulaneLSU's Top 10 signs of Ashland, AL

TulaneLSU's Top 10 flowers of Auburn University:

10. Swamp azalea

9. Coral bean

8. Magnolia

7. Unknown, perhaps a relative of Penstemon strictus

6. Unknown

5. Stoke's aster

4. Swamp iris

3. Oakleaf hydrangea

2. Roses

1. Mountain laurel

Faith, Hope, and Love,

Former fisheries professor of mine at Auburn, R O’Neal Smitherman, was a bonafide native azalea expert and after retirement worked with Auburn landscape crews to expand plantings of native azaleas on the Auburn campus - wouldn’t surprise me if he planted the swamp azalea you photographed.

Louisiana iris you can find any nursery. A common one like in that pic is called Sinfonietta.

I personally like Delta Star. Dark purple and yellow throat.

You should do top 10 Auburn chicken finger places next. There are about a hundred of them so it might be hard narrowing it down to just 10.
