I have a Stradic Ci4 2500 that I like a lot. If I were buying now, it would be hard not to buy a Daiwa BG for $100 unless the reel was going on a super light rod.

I have a 2500 Stradic Ci4+ on a 7'6" M-L Dobyns champions series rod that has easily been my favorite setup for trout.

Stradic CI4 or Shimano Sustain either in 2500 or 3000 size.

Truly an American made rod that is light, sensitive & priced right. Your shimano choice will make a top shelf unit.

I have Shimano's and Penn's and are slowly changing over to Lew's inshore 400.

Add another Stradic recommendation from me. Mine is my favorite reel and is fantastic to fish with.

I do find that the drop off between the Stradic and the Sahara is surprisingly noticeable.

Quantum makes a saltwater one called "smoke"
It's pretty awesome and hasn't given me any problems (wash good after use)

ETA: downvote away that reel is a beast

Glad to hear about your experience with the Cajun Delta. I'm looking forward to using it later this week. I went with the Stradic CI4+... I almost broke the bank and went with the Twin Power, but I liked the way it felt with the super light reel. Thanks again everyone for your input.

You won’t be disappointed. That pole is a redfish and trout machine. It has just enough give to make a bigger redfish fight fun, but also enough backbone for when you are tired of playing with them. And of course, the Cajun Rods are tough as shite!

You should try actually catching fish on those reels. It's pretty fun.
