If that lodge and the deer in it and the deer they shot were in St. Helena that is impressive. I was thinking they were in the NE part of the state. They must have a lot of acreage to manage and grow deer like that in St.H.

Most of them are from the amite and greensburg area. I know slade and his family had tatum in centerville. I'm sure they have some other places in la but the deer they kill in st helena are always quality. They also murder the turkeys. And they hunt out of state obviously.

Yeah there are not many big deer in st Helena. Dog hunters An night hunters keep them thinned out. Would be tough to find one over 110in.

Very wealthy,

That's good because they aren't making any money in the TV hunting business.

A lot of club's don't allow dogs anymore. The quality of bucks in st helena has improved in the past few years imo. 120" deer are very common.

I sent Slade and Blake a link to this thread and they said someone sent them this too. I may have cracked the case.

It was an icon for sure. People around here complain about too many bars but we need a lot of them. Helps spread around the trashy people so they don't all group up in one place

Did Ricky sell or pass away? My mom used to date his cousin. Good family.

I could be wrong but I don't think that is the same Jay Alston from Hammond that is wealthy.

The fella I am taking about had a Frac sand business.

I've never met him but we have mutual friends in the Tangi business class.

True

Been hunting my best friend’s family property off and on for 25 years and we’ve increased our hunting efforts more the past five or so because we’re seeing a lot more good deer.

Past three years he’s killed two that were 125+ and another that would’ve also if not for him going to crap the year he got him.

Property has the Tangipahoa/St. Helena Parish line go right through it. It’s only about 200 acres and over 75% is pasture with cattle.

The deer he shot and the ones on the wall were closer to the 140+ range. And iirc he called the one he shot a management buck.

He never owned it, just ran it. Was owned by family members. His health got too bad so family decided it was time to call it. He is still alive though. There are random sightings at bars in neighboring towns here and there. Last I heard he was staying with a guy in an assisted living facility but was about to get his friend kicked out because he was being too hornery with people and causing trouble
