Weldbilt makes some solid cheap hulls you can get new. They are only .100 thick, but if you are putting an outboard you could do a small tohatsu.

I have exactly what you're looking for. Carolina Skiff J16, rigged and ready to fish. I've had it listed on FB marketplace for a couple weeks but hard to find someone looking for a boat that size.
josh.blackwell88@gmail.com if you're interested.

I have a 12 ft Duracraft 1974, with a 05 Yamaha 8 hp. This probably what he is looking for.
I've caught more fish out of rigs like this than I ever have from some expensive glitter boat. We used to eat up the fish in the marsh around Gum Cove in these types of boats, plus you can easily drag them over a levee to fish the other side.

The OB turned me on to YouTube vids of the small boat builds and I have to say I'm almost down to give it a go. A friend and I are looking for a fun excuse to pass the evening time this winter.

I've been itching to try it on a lil flats boat. I built and fiberglassed a pirogue last year when I was "working from home" and it was a lot of fun. The best advice I could give is wear gloves. I couldn't find any and went ahead and used epoxy anyway. It's still on my hands.

Are boats and outboards difficult to find right now?

That would have been my 2nd fiberglass hull suggestion. Can’t beat a Carolina for what he’s wanting. And if you’re a bigger fella like me, short and narrow just ain’t that fun!

There's one with a console and everything on Facebook Marketplace for like 1600.
Is that a good deal? 96 model.

My first boat was 14 x 42 bateau with a 25 HP Mercury. I went to hell and back in it. South Pass, Last Island, Hog Island, Atchafalaya Delta. You just have to watch the weather-and your arse!

I have a 14x36 rivet that needs new wood in the transom and maybe a little welding on the gussets if you want to put a motor bigger than a 10 on it. It's got papers, no trailer. It ain't worth enough for me to go through the trouble of listing it, I just want it out of my yard.
somebody please come get this boat out of my yard lol

a few rivets need to be bucked, the through hull bolts on the transom need to be re-caulked and the wood in the transom is rotten. couple of cracks along the top rail by the gussets but would make a good pond boat or beater boat without much work.
