Too young to hunt?

My daughter is about to turn 4, now I grew up in a outdoors family so me hunting at age 4 with my dad was no big deal. (I am not talking about by myself with my own gun, just being with him and around guns) now I want to introduce my daughter to it and my wife keeps saying she is too young still. I agree she wont be able to sit there all day without moving around and we probaly wont see anything the times I carry her, but I really want to start off at a early age with her teaching her about hunting and gun saftey. My question is, Is she too young to start? or do I need to wait a few more years like my wife says?

It depends on the kid. My 6yo can't sit still long enough to leave an impression in the seat cushion, but my almost 5yo loves it.

I have one that will sit all day with me. The other just comes on afternoon hunts starting about hour and half before sundown. If you have a box stand or blind that they can read/color/play on phone without being seen by deer it helps.

My oldest daughter has been coming with me since she was in diapers. As long as you keep a couple things in mind you can make it enjoyable.
1) Children are like grown women, they cannot be quiet and will never be comfortable. Be prepared to spook game.
2) Be prepared to bring lots of dolls, books, video games, etc.
3) However much snacks and drinks you bring for yourself, bring 5x that much for a child.
4) Waking a child up at 4:30 to go hunting is a recipe for disaster. Evening hunts are a lot easier for the younguns.
5) Teach them about other stuff aside from hunting. My 5 yr old can walk through the woods and name more trees and plants than 80% of grown men. They enjoy learning new stuff, no matter what.
6) They will get cold, no matter how warm it is, so bring plenty of clothes for the little one.

That is really what I had planned on with her, Just taking her out there letting her see everything maybe not even sit in one spot, just let her get a feel for it and start learning. She loves being outside so I think she would have a ball just being in the woods

My daughter, going to 5 in February, just made her first hunt on youth weekend. We set up easy in a low box and I let her play with the IPad when she got bored. Just be sure to be teaching the whole time (stay quiet, point out trees, animals, expected behaviors, gun safety) and tell her stories the whole time.
Also, may want to start with an easy squirrel or duck hunt.

this still fits me today.

My dad started bringing me as a toddler. I'd lay down in the box stand and sleep or color. He'd wake me when he saw a deer.
