They starting catching them at night off of our neighbor's pier. This usually means it is close to busting open in the shallows.

What do you mostly catch perch on? I usually throw a bettle spin or road runner to locate and cover water then jigs and such. Sound about right?

Man, I am far from an expert. I usually only fish for them at this time of the year to fill my freezer. I primarily use road runners and shiners.

Fished Saturday and half the day Sunday.

Saturday was the Texas Oilmen's Tourney and they had 750 boats on the water.

Saturday: 20 keepers. Caught on 4" ringworm in Watermelon seed. 3/16 oz. weight and Baby Brush Hog in Watermelon Candy red, spray the tail chartreuse and Garlic spray (Hawg Wild) move that suckers so slow you feel the grass on the bottom.
Biggest fish was 4.75#

Sunday fished until 2: 11 keepers. Found these in 5 foot of water. Throw to the shallows and reel back to deep water. Same slow retrieve. Biggest 4.5#

Wind was a bitch both days. Bass are ready to spawn. I think in the next 2 weeks the spawn will be on for both bass and White Perch.
