This applies to mainly the Baptiste Collette area. I am really curious to how the parish will enforce this. Also curious as to how the parish plans to get permits in people's hands, if you must go during the week during business hours going to be tough for 70% of the hunters that use that area to get permits.
Due to all the pressure I haven't hunted that area in years, it's just gotten to difficult, however I am following this as it's a great place to hunt when there isn't literally 1,000 mud boats. I plan on calling the parish later today about all of it to get more details.

Dirty Mike do you plan on everyone in your boat having a permit along with yours? Or do you plan on the permit covering everyone?

Just trolling. I only ever hunted down river on fed or state land down there. Never been on parish land. And I’m very conscious of what my surface drive is capable of.but yeah I also believe people overreact way too much to certain things.

As access gets more and more difficult I’m tempted to just sell my boat and all my crap and just charter any fishing and hunting I want to do. It’s just seems so much more simple and likely the same price when it’s all said and done.

Yeah more government overreach is rarely the answer. But I hate guided hunts. I’d rather skunk on my own than be left wondering if the guide just fricked us over.

It’s funny how in 2018 they wouldn’t be set up for you to purchase this mythical ‘permit’ online. I think it’s going back up for vote or appeal next week so I don’t see it being ready any time soon.

They could do like other parishes and just lease out the land..... blame this also on the book released last year.

Only if you want to fish Parish owned or controlled property. It's not a permit, it's a processing fee for a liability waiver. I'd like to know how often you have to sign this waiver.
Even though I don't believe this will actually happen it's just another reason for people like me to avoid the hassle of inshore fishing in Plaquemines Parish. I used to spend thousands of dollars every year on lodging and fuel. Now I spend zero. Enacting this into law could lead to other Parishes doing the same thing
