Picked up a used Native Titan 12. Any thoughts on it as an inshore platform vs other kayaks?

I hope they fixed the rudder. All of the Natives I have seen have had sub-par steering

inshore platform

It was designed as a bass fishing kayak. But I know a guy that takes his inshore fishing all the time. He loves his. I’ve tried it out a couple times and wouldn’t mind owning one.

It's a tank. I knew one guy in our club that had one. He sold it and got an Outback.

Boonedox sells an after market add-on to help. The rudder cable itself might need to be replaced depending on how old the model is.

This is based on experience with a Slayer Propel. Super stable platform for standing though.

The newest steering system that Native is including on all their models is much improved in my opinion. I have a Titan 12, its a big comfortable boat. You aren't going to win any races in it but you will be comfortable standing and sight fishing from it. My biggest complaint with the hull design and factory steering on the Titan is that the tracking is simply not good. I've heard that the BerleyPro rudder makes a world of difference but haven't tried it yet. I much prefer my Slayer Propel Max over my Titan.

I probably need to just go ahead and get one of these, but I don't have room for three yaks.

Pack & Paddle was supposed to be receiving a Native shipment early this week, possibly even today. Get em while they are hot!

I might put both my Slayer 12 and Manta Ray propel up for sale at the same time, just let go of the first one to sell.
