This deserved its own thread. That 24 gun safe that was one of the bigger deals at Walmart as a doorbuster is available online.

LINK
24 gun Stack on safe. Fireproof/Waterproof

Sure Stack On isn't the best quality BUT for $300 off and wait.... $9 shipping to your house !!!

People are waiting in the cold for this and for an extra $9, someone will delivery to your house.

That's $500 that I'll put towards a liberty fatboy.

I think it's gander mountain that has the fatboy Jr for $1100 and it's a hell lot more than the aforementioned safe. Granted shipping is a raping, you can pick it up local too.

Tractor supply has a 48 gun safe for $699 and even that's a better deal.

Eta: the TS safe is cannon.

I looked at the Cannon and it is pretty solid but the interior is cheaply done. Given that, one could dress it up to be nicer if inclined to do so. Currently the local TS does not deliver but they do load it onto your trailer or truck for you via forklift. I am getting one tmo.

The TS safe is available online as well right now. What makes it that much better other than storage? I'm not too well versed on safes.

None of anything mentioned in this thread is actually a safe. They are all residential safety containers. Now, this is very snobbish but true. Go to YouTube and watch some videos to see how quickly some of these be opened by just a crowbar, quickly. Add a fire axe to the side wall and they will peel right open.

Now here's my opinion. 99% of the people who break into your house are going to see that safe and steal your TV. The other 1% are going to bring the tools to break into any safe you buy. Safes should just be an additional level of security (dogs, cameras, alarm, etc).

My dad has the TS safe and it works great for him. The interior is cheap and you can tell that it isn't the highest quality but it's better than keeping them in his closet like the last 40 years. He's had his since last black Friday.

I want a larger safe and they cost more because the quality goes up. The difference between a good 64 gun safe and a cheap 64 safe is negligible.

I like the TS safe over the WM safe because of size and name. You will fill up that 48 gun safe faster than you think possible. There is no way that I would consider anything smaller than a 48 (guns, pictures, jewelry, computers, servers, etc). Also, the worst is better than the best stack on, so I've read. I don't own either but have handled both and read lots over the past few weeks.

This is definitely a case of buying as large as you can, for $200 more, the 48 is a no brainer.

Typed on phone, not responsible for errors.

I only have 6 long guns so I can't really justify a 48 gun safe

I'm not a hunter so I don't expect more than 15 long guns. I say this now, but I don't need any more AKs. I have 2 ARs and I could see myself possibly having 4-5 total (but not for at least 3-5 more years until I get to that point). I have 2 22LRs. I may end up getting a shotgun and possibly a deer rifle is I ever decide to get into it. Thats maybe 10 long guns right there.

I currently have a 10 gun stack on metal cabinet that I got when I first bought the house, but want something just a little more secure. I live in Mandeville so crime isn't that much of a problem here. I'll never say never though...I want a safe for an additional layer of protection like you mentioned. I'd rather them take a $500 TV and xbox than try to deal with opening a big safe.

With that being said, I'm not sure if I can justify $280 more (including freight) for more storage when I don't need the storage to begin with. However, I do agree with you that the TS safe is certainly of better quality.

In your situation, you may not actually need the 48. Still on phone so look this up for me, the fire rating of each. Is one greatly higher than the other? Crime is very low in my area as well but a house fire can happen to anyone.

Freight from TS just requires a trailer, a friend or two, and a case of beer. The $200 higher cost is hard to playoff though...

Definitely agree. That was actually one of the bigger factors I considered.
24 gun stack on - 1400 degrees for 30min (also waterproof up to 2 ft for 72 hours)

48 gun cannon- 1200 degrees for 30min

Sam's Club has a Cannon 24 Gun safe in stores here locally for $599. I'm considering it. I think it weights 500lbs.

How does it compare to the 24 gun safe in the 1st post? What is the fire rating on the cannon?

That stack on appears to be a good safe for its size. If that's all you need, that's all that you need. Just really would be a kick in the balls to realize in 5 years that the 48 would have held your stuff better.

2' waterproofing does nothing for me. If my house gets 2', I'm evacuating, with my guns.

I think it was 30 minutes at 1200, but I don't know about if it is waterproof.

They don't advertise it online, but it's in the store locally. I've looked at it several times, but haven't pulled the trigger.

Yea are right there...If I get tot he point where a 24 gun main safe, and a 10 gun secondary metal case is too small, I'll have much bigger issues with Mrs TTT

I bought the Cannon 48 gun from TS during their Labor Day sale. 800 bucks all said and done.

I added LED light strip with remote. Lights up real nice on the inside.

If anyone can get in this, they can get Into any other Liberty or other brands that BPS or Cabellas sell. I live in a residential area so to pull this out my house is very unlikely. To break in it will take more effort than necessary not to get caught.

Unless I spend 5000+ on a real safe I will be happy all day long with my Cannon

I just don't care how flimsy the electronic keypad is. Dad broke his, no idea how, and had to get a new one. The rest of the safe is great, especially for the money. I just wish they made a 64 for that price.

Those will be my first electronic so I'll see how they do. I normally just buy a big jar of green foam earplugs once a year and keep them n my tool box.

What I'm excited about: during long days at the range, turn the microphone up and put ear plugs in. Still have normal conversation but 2x protection.

Anyone getting the safe? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger. What would I put under it so that I don't damage bedroom carpet?
