I like it, but not at that price.

I like the idea of it, but not the execution and definitely not the price.

re: The Official Kayak Thread
It goes in reverse so much nicer than the 180 drive. But...

re: The Official Kayak Thread
I saw pictures of the Vibe pedal and it's the old Mirage drive. Also it's getting a motor option.

I get that the patent expired but can these companies not come up with their own innovative design instead of ripping off 10+ year old Hobie tech?

“This new fishing kayak doesn’t just change the game, it ends it,” says Josh Thomas, Vibe Outdoors’ CEO. “Two years in development, this is not just Vibe’s newest creation, it’s now the bar for which all fishing kayaks will be measured — delivering an unmatched fishing experience by combining an arsenal of features that kayak anglers customarily had to choose one over the other; and at a price point that is incomparable.”

I haven't seen the full kayak yet but you don't throw out words like this and then turn around and drop a copy of a drive Hobie moved on from 10 years ago. You don't "end the game" with someone elses old discarded shite. What a turd.

That was my exact thought.

re: The Official Kayak Thread
There's a video now on Facebook. The boat itself looks great, but the drive is no where to be seen.

I like the idea of folding the seat down and sitting on top of the back.

re: The Official Kayak Thread
I guess the whole "end the game" shite is because they have the option for either the knockoff mirage drive or motorized.

Congrats...but FeelFree already came out with that on their OverDrive system last year. And FeelFree's design is better because you can use pedal and motorized power simultaneously, where this new Vibe setup looks like you have to pull the pedal drive out to but the motorized one in its place.

ETA: Nevermind. Looks like its just "Bixpy jet ready". Not a motor that comes with the yak

I guess if you like that type of drive, it's a great boat.

The standing platform on the back of the seat is the best thing about it. Wouldn't be surprised to see that feature copied by other kayak manufacturers in the future.

Not that impressed. Nice looking yak, but they built expectations too high to meet.

Should have put a Native drive in it.

Feature packed at a good price point, and I agree it looks like a Bonafide. Just hate they went with the hobie drive.

I think I may try and modify my seat to fit something like that. Maybe use an cutting board with some Marine Mat scraps on it.
