Went out on the tchefuncte this weekend. Nice short paddle from T rivers bar/grill out to a knee deep sand bar with a bunch of yachts.

Any one have any recommendations of other trips around Mandeville area? We did cane bayou a few weks ago, that was pretty cool too.

I'll probably stay East until the fall flounder run.

That's a long time. Is that a usual thing? Bad all summer?

Not sure, but I love fishing that area in September and October.

I've always caught flounder while fishing for Reds or Specks. I've never gone out specifically for them. One trip last fall in West Cove I caught 7 in the channel between the launch and the lake. They're fun to catch.

I'd rather catch flounder than anything down there.

I'm still partial to Reds because I like the fight.

I have been telling myself that since March

Ive thrown in the towel until fall for trout... it’s just an awful year. Gonna hunt some marsh pumpkins and bream until then.

We hit up Henderson this am. No sacalait to be found but ended up with 15 nice bream.

I know they had issues initially

Did some research on the issues. Looks like the early designs of the pedal drive were flawed. One thing was only a plastic washer and 1 bolt holding the prop on, some owners were loosing them as they would work there way loose.

Perception apparently stepped up and replaced the entire drive system if you had an issue to an updated one. Mine has the updated drive.

Anybody seen a feelfree lure with overdrive in person or know somewhere that carries them? You don’t hear much about them

Masseys used to carry them. I'm not sure if there is a Feel Free dealer in Louisiana.

If you want to see a bunch of Gators and big garfish try the primative boat launch (no motorized boats allowed) in Lacombe. Take Lacombe Harbor Rd to Grande Ave which turns into Paquet Rd. Go until you see the brown sign on right. The gravel road will take you to the canal. It's a straight cut canal. The gravel road and the canal can be seen on Google maps. Years ago I saw the biggest alligator I've ever seen in that canal.

I’m in the infant stages of looking at my next yak and I’m looking at pedal drives. In just peaking around, there isn’t a more feature rich boat than the lure 13.5 and they get no love in MS/LA. It’s a really smart layout and that seat looks incredible. Even has a wheel built in the keel to help transport. Outside of the front hatch (I’m a tankwell guy), not much to not like.
