I like the layout. I would be worried about the quality.

I mentioned earlier in the thread about a good bit of used Wilderness Systems kayaks I have been seeing on Facebook Marketplace. I THINK that they can be fitted with the Helix drive system depending on the year.
I have also seen a bunch of used KC Kayaks in that range. You wouldn't be able to do a pedal set-up but you could mount a trolling motor on it.

Looks like you would be limited to LINK []=553" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer">these. That's if their site's filter works properly.

Has anyone looked at the new FeelFree Dorado 125? They previewed it at iCast and it was supposed to hit the market this month.
It might be the most gaudy kayak I have seen. Its 38" wide, 12'6" long, and has built in navigation and deck lighting and has a USB charging port. It also has their new "tri-cathedral" hull design. It comes with the FeelFree pedal drive but is also compatible with their Overdrive electric motor for an additional $1,400.
One of my buddies has a FeelFree Lure 11.5 and its like trying to paddle a coffee table. I can't imagine trying to maneuver one that is 4" wider and a foot longer.
ETA: iCast Walk Through

Holy crap. That thing looks perfect.

They're not out yet, but the pedals are. Way over engineered IMO. And $1400 for the motor is blasphemy. The kayak itself looks amazing. BTW, that was last year's ICAST. The 2018 show is next month.

So does the Helix fit the ATAK?

Yes.

Looks like just the motor not the pedal fits in those. I think the pedal is only for the Radar. Could be wrong though.

That's the cool thing about the Feelfree. The motor and pedal can be integrated. No one around here sells them though.

I never really considered the A.T.T.K though. Too big.

Went and looked at the pelican and the ascend. Talked myself out of coming home with the ascend. We're on vacation headed from hot springs, through Memphis to Aberdeen to see family.
Wife ask me to pull into the Academy in Southhaven, MS. I see a perception Pescador 12 pilot with clearance tag of $750. I ask customer service to check the price, it was correct. Last year's model and last one they had. This year's model was marked $1799.

That's a pretty good deal for a pedal kayak. Worst case if you hate it I guarantee you can sell for you money back and more.

I need to go check the local Academy's in NOLA to see if I can get that lucky.

That's a really good deal. I know they had issues initially, but I'm sure they've been corrected by now.

I'm pretty sure academy pulled the original pilot model out of their stores completely for a little while. I haven't heard much about them since they started selling them again, but I assume they got the issues worked out.
