Let me put it this way. Several of us on this board fished a tournament last Saturday and I swear at least 90% of the 67 anglers had Hobies. Either a PA14, PA12, Outback, or the new Compass (which surprised me how nice they are.)

I was really impressed with how she held up. I was consistently going 3.5mph pedal straight into a 20-25kt headwind. That pointed bow cut through those waves like butter.

I enjoy the hell out of my Wildy 135 but is it able to handle every situation no, hell no
(do enjoy my reverse) so eat shite Mirage drive but
I dont get the hate on Hobie

Just let it out, you'll feel better

I think it’s pretty awesome how many options there are nowadays. I’ve demoed many different ones and settled on my Slayer because personally it fit me and what I wanted to do with it best. In hindsight though, I just wish I would’ve spent the extra money for the Propel drive.

You have any pics of your rigged up? I'm about 99% positive I'll be picking up a Compass soon and have a general idea of what I want.

I added the square hatch, moved the stock round hatch to the bow and added two H-Rails and map pockets. The Marine Mat is awesome as well.
Depending on where you can get it, I would look at asking for the upgraded 180 drive. My dealer gave me the 180 for the cost difference between that and the Standard GT.
Pros: PRICE! Weight, Mirage Drive, its stable enough to stand and sight cast, standard h-tracks, PA style rudder, and its Lowrance ready. The bow cuts through waves easily and the squared back offers a lot of stability.
The seat is pretty meh. Its not a problem nor is it a real asset for the boat like the vantage seat.
Cons: Its the first run of the model so I am not sure if there will be any long-term problems. The paddle holder sucks but I can stow it under my H-rail rod holders so it will do.

It came out real nice. I'm really surprised how much I liked it. For me as a Lefty my only complaint would be where the rudder control is.

That thing looks slick! I’d like to eventually get some sea deck.

The PA kit has the ruler built into the deck mat and it looks sweet. The digi camo would go well with the green PA.

Yep, same issue. It just something I/we are going to have to get used to unfortunately.

I didn't realize some dealers could swap the drive, even still I didn't think it was a deal breaker when I tested one for 2 days without the reverse drive.
Similar to what I think I'd do. Square hatch, move the circle hatch up front, I already bought a battery tray for the circle hatch to put a battery for my Elite 5, already have a map pocket a buddy gave me, and would probably put a Side Bro on the opposite side.

It's at least worth asking. Some do and some don't but I use the reverse all the time.
