I am going to look a used kayak (14ft) to purchase over the weekend. If I end up buying I need to figure out a way to transport it back home. I have an SUV with standard roof rack. If Im driving at low speeds (less than 35mph) is simple rope and tie off to top good enough until I get kayak rack for the top? Any suggestions appreciated.

Good idea. I could use some ratchet straps anyway. Thanks.

Don't use a ratchet strap. Just a pull type.

Agree. Don’t use ratchet strap. Too easy to overdo it. Buy the lashing straps. They have them cheap at harbor freight. 12’ for 3.99 I think

Ended up going this morning. Myself and a buddy caught about 15. Kept 6. The biggest was about 6 lbs.

Where’d y’all go?

We went to cocodrie and it sucked. 4 rats, 1 slot red.

Went to the Lacassine Pool. I've never caught bass like that. Every cast you would have 1 or 2 hits but they were just nipping, not many were actually taking the bait. I guess they were territorial strikes off the beds.

Those of you who know and use 13 reels... what is the major difference between origin C and the new TX?

He still selling it? I’m about to buy one. Waiting another year for a boat and ready to get into the pedal kayak game.

I joined the Native Propel Facebook group when I was looking at kayaks and I feel like I keep seeing issues with the titain. A lot of it has to do with upgrades that people put on them, but it s might be something to consider.

IMO 13 fishing reels do not hold up well in kayaks. Saltwater easily gets inside and the bearings pit and are toast. I switched over to Lew's and have not been disappointed.

How far did you paddle from the launch? If you stayed within 1-2 miles then that was your problem. Those areas get hit so hard

I’d say we traveled 2 miles or so away from launch. Not that far
