Let her get the reel she wants and try to set it up the best you can (internal brakes). Some of the cheapos work fine if not used much. If not and she cant throw it well, she can always use one of yours when shes throwing something light. Ive found, give the wife a spinnerbait and let her have at it.

Buy the cheap one she wants right now. It avoids an arguement. Also, if she doesn't enjoy fishing and doesn't go again, not too much money lost. If she enjoys fishing the first one will break and then you can buy her a good setup that she knows that she will use.

Have any of you had issues getting your girl to
engage in any sexual activity on a boat?
My fiancee' just refuses to do any thing more than kiss on a boat. I dont know why, as we are both fairly adventurous in our escapades... i.e
( cars, car wash, truck bed, trampoline, deer stands, golf cart, etc...)
Last summer we were literally the only ones on the lake. In the back of a little cove with no houses. She kept rejecting my advances. Pissed me off.
She kept saying, what if someone drives up!??! I was like no one will, and besides it aint like we have to scramble to put a bunch of clothes on.
Why o Why??
BTW we were tightlining for catfish.
Me > 8 catfish
Fiancee > 9 catfish
She defeated me.

Well i was up on her 7 fish to 2.
I put down the catfishing rod, and started chasing schooling 1 lb bass.
Shecaught up before i knew what the hell hit me.
